The mission

This blog is dedicated to building knowledge on bar code products and consumables. It is open for anyone to add their knowledge to enhance the current and emerging understanding of how bar codes work and where they can be used. A lot of the bar code products can be found at our online store www.adazonusa.com which provides bar code labels, bar code printers, scanners and other bar code consumables. Let us know what you know by posting here. We will try to make sure the information here is accurate and comment when it is now. Bar code technology has been around for a long time, but many companies are still just getting into it for their materials management needs.

We had a customer ask for a industrial barcode printer that was quite for use in the office. Interesting request. They currently have a Datamax Prodigy Plus and it is too noisy. We tested 5 printers and found that the quietest printer for their use was the Datamax I Class barcode printer. We recommended the I-4208 Direct-Thermal Transfer Barcode Printer. This printer actually has a barcode scanner on it to test the readability of the barcode as it prints. Other printers tested were the Zebra z4m, s4m, 105, and the 110xi. The 110xi was actually quieter but too industrial for a prodigy plus replacement.
